These bugs are the homopterous family pseudococcidae, pests of plants. This type of ladybug can be found in different areas along the United States. The fifth and sixth species are armored scale insects and scale insects. Both of these species are like the mealybugs they can be located in the United States.
There is an alternative food that ladybugs will eat when there species is not available to them. They eat the flower nectar, water and honeydew. They eat the sugary excretion from the plants and other plants that do not flower.
